Founder and CEO: Nurhussen Yassin Omer

From a small business trader and operating modern agriculture in Asaita that exported livestock, oil seeds, kidney beans, fruits and vegetables in chartered planes, to becoming a raw garment importer and starting a food complex, Nurhussen Yassin has anchored his name to multiple business sectors in the past decades. He now imports more than 100 brands of alcoholic beverages making him one of the biggest distributors of grocery items and foodstuffs. He also owns and manages six bars and restaurants in the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport Duty Free zone. With his ventures growing, his ambition to bring in international business names and franchises like Mango and now the American cosmetics brand MAC set to launch in October 2019 sets him apart from other local businessmen. NHY, carrying his initials, is now a company with USD 33 million in annual turnover making him the second highest tax payer in Ethiopia. With his major shares in two of the largest private banks in Ethiopia, Nurhussein Yassin continues to expand his businesses in and outside Ethiopia.
